Remote sensor company to map Brazilian municipalities
BRASILIA, Brazil, Oct. 5 () -- Bradar, a company controlled by Embraer Defense & Security, is to map areas in Brazil subject to natural disasters and monitor environmental preservation areas. The work comes under three contracts issued to Bradar worth an estimated combined total of $15 million. The first contact to Bradar (formerly known as OrbiSat Industria e Aerolevantamento), came from the Mineral Research and Resources Co. (CPRM),Gucci Discount, for mapping extreme risk areas in 74 Brazilian municipalities deemed most vulnerable to landslides and flooding. For the 15-month project, Bradar will use remote sensing technology -- Interferometric synthetic aperture radar -- that operates on the X and P bandwidths and is capable of generating high-precision maps."We are very pleased to be able to take part in this project, because our product was proven to be qualified as the most adequate for this type of survey," said Bradar President Mauricio Aveiro. "We will be able to contribute data that is able to guide the actions of public authorities in preventing natural disasters and catastrophes in these municipalities."The other two contracts are for monitoring environmental preservation areas around the hydroelectric plants of Belo Monte, in the State of Para, and Santo Antonio,Gucci Men Belt, in the State of Rondonia."The services allow greater control over the preservation area of the (plant's) reservoirs, while immediately stopping damage to the property and generating documents with highly precise facts and figures," said Aveiro. "It is clear that using radar technology for monitoring large areas is effective."
