Adam Pettle knows when you should hold 'em and fold 'em,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]

Pettle wasn't too worried about the drought. "Playwriting for me personally is what rushes from you. Martin McDonagh has discussed how he wrote a lot of of his famous plays so quickly in the 20s. I understand that. Playwriting is really a young man's game, well at least a bit. However it wasn't lack of inspiration or anxiety about failure that's kept Pettle away from theatre in recent years. I've found TV can make you learn how to write plot, how you can shape a story. I'm visiting realize theatre could use a lot more of that.

He looks up to Aaron Sorkin as an idol. "There's a guy I respect so much. His capability to write dialogue is the best, not to mention his tight stories. And that he does theatre, TV and film, too."
But Pettle admits "it's the folks that brought me to the theatre. There's nobody like them. Their constant look for truth,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], their unwillingness to compromise. TV is a different kind of machine. There's simply not just as much humanity going on there."
While he concedes that he's reaching a significantly bigger audience on TV ("more people see one episode of Rookie Blue than have experienced my plays put together everywhere in the world") he still loves the dynamic that makes a crowd arrived at the theatre,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
"When they choose to leave their houses and head outdoors to come to your play, that's choice, that's exhilarating, that's why I actually do it."
Pettle's brother, Jordan,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], besides being his closest friend on the planet, starred in the original 2001 production and is now co-directing it together with his sibling.
"I type of think of us as Jack and Bobby Kennedy,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], only we're Jewish and they are better looking,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," quips Pettle. But he does admit to planning for a modern day version of the story of Moses and Aaron for the a couple of these phones star in.
