|Sega Genesis Collection
There have been few companies that have been in the same shoes of Sega, since they have continued to thrive even in the face of turmoil. It is one of the few companies that previously had a console, and now sticks to only creating games for various consoles. Indeed it has been bought out,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which means that has sold out, but still they continue to produce and develop games like Phantasy Star Universe, and games like the Sonic series. Looking back at its life,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], you can see that they have made many strides since the old days in the arcade. And now -- thanks to them -- we get to relive their collection again, though previously it was generally on the PC.
Indeed quite a few of these games have been released on other platforms or collections. My opinion is that this game shapes up very well,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], since there is a vast collection of quality games put together in one location, and that is great to see. Many other companies pick only a handful of their games,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but Sega has successfully poured plenty of them onto this disk to keep you busy for hours. Like every collection,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], there are a few shining games, many good games, several okay games,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and of course a few bad ones which make you wonder why they were included. I will let you decide for yourself which games fall in those categories.
There are plenty of standard action/platform games to play, and they seem to be a favourite during the last twenty-five or so years. Comix Zone,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Altered Beast, Alex Kidd in the Enchanted Castle,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Decap Attack, Flicky,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Golden Axe 1-3, Kid Chameleon,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Ristar,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Shadow Dancer, Shinobi 3, Sonic 1 2,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Vectorman 1-2, and finally Bonanza Bros round out the game list. If you were only looking for these styled games, you have hit pay dirt and these can keep you busy for hours. I remember a few of these games being a little easier than they were on this time around, but perhaps its these old bones that cannot keep up with the seizure inducing, television wrecking, quaint music spewing games of the time.
If you were looking for games of other kinds though, there are quite a few of those as well. If you wanted to play their puzzle game Columns,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], you are in luck since it was included. The fighting game Virtua Fighter 2 was also included, which was great to see. There is the action section with Ecco the Dolphin, Ecco: Tides of Time, and Ecco Jr. For flying games you have the option of playing Super Thunder Blade. Finally for the role-playing game nuts out there Phantasy Star 2, 3, and 4 are available. Overall I would have liked to see a few more games for this section, but most of the games here are solid, and very fun.
For the most part, the content is spot on but there were a few minor problems that I experienced. Some games would not allow you to continue, which was a problem for me because I died several times while trying to get re-acquainted to the system. A game like Golden Axe only allows you to have three continues, which is fairly. annoying. Because of these restrictions in the game, it artificially lengthens the game by forcing you to revisit the older stages a few times before getting them right. This becomes fairly boring because you have all ready seen it before, and compared to today works they are not too pretty to look at.
Overall the games that I enjoyed the most, in case you were wondering, were Comix Zone, Altered Beast, Golden Axe 1-3, Kid Chameleon, Shinobi 3, and Phantasy Star 2-4. I may spend a bit too much time with the game than I should, which could lead to bad things down the road, but right now it feels right. They work quite nicely considering how old they are, and their control schemes are set up nicely.
In the end,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], this is a worthy collection to pick up since there are a lot of fun games, since it would take thousands of Wii points or X-Box points to download these qualities games. Now you may be saying that this is just a quick way for Sega to cash in on their past, I will respond with least this collection had a lot hits to play The only part of the game that did not satisfy me was that some games did not provide enough continues,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], or something that would allow you to play beyond the first life lost. I still hope that someone puts Snow Brothers in a collection some day. All and all, Captain Gordon gives Sega Genesis Collections a B+.相关的主题文章：
