Florida Gators to keep it simple with uniforms,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]

The Florida Gators are fixing one problem they had last season,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but it has nothing to do with their performance on the field. Associate athletic director of external affairs Mike Hill says that when it comes to the football uniforms the Gators will be getting "back to business as usual" according to The Orlando Sentinel.
Last season Florida was one of 11 programs to wear a Nike Pro Combat line of uniform with a new helmet and uniform design,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], although the specialty designs were only worn on limited occasions by the participating schools including Oklahoma,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Ohio State and TCU. Florida wore their uniforms for their regular season finale against rival Florida State,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], continuing their march to a possible BCS Championship game appearance. The Gators alternate uniforms came complete with a redesigned blue jersey with a new lettering and an awkward pattern to accompany. The intent was to give Florida a throwback look with a hipper design expected to fit in with the modern era. The jerseys came with a white helmet,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], paying homage to the earlier days of the Florida program.
I was never a big fan of Florida's Nike Pro Combat uniforms,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but Florida took things a step farther with an all-white uniform for the SEC championship game against Alabama. Perhaps the uniform gods were watching closely because the Gators came up well short of reaching the BCS Championship game. The all white uniform,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], combining white pants with a white road jersey and the Nike Pro Combat influenced white helmet looked like a disaster and in no way seemed to resemble the Florida program people are accustomed to watching.
After debuting in all white, and losing, in the biggest game of the season,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Florida is doing away with the duds. "There are no design changes that are in the works,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," Hill said.
For that,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the uniform gods will be happy. Now if they could just get a handle on those guys from Oregon.
