Submitted 2013-01-12 05:28:50 Creative writing can hollister deutschland made more fun and exciting when published in the form of a serial blog. Each chapter is cut down to very small pieces, allowing the writer to take a more relaxed pace, while keeping the reader intrigued and returning for more.
I started writing "Full Time Lara" barbour outlet nearly a year ago today, a work of fiction about a woman barbour online shop traveling across the country getting into one adventure after another. I spent about six months conceiving the plot, the many adventures she gets into, developing the characters, and how many words each chapter would be.
Then I began writing.
I registered abercrombie milano a blog on Blogger, and abercrombie pas cher wrote my first chapter. Six months later, I've written over 50 chapters, slowly built up a small following, and find myself always eager to write more. It's just fun.
Here are some tips I've compiled...
Adventures seem to make the best serials. You have a main character who gets into one situation, gets out, and then gets into another. It just keeps going on hollister and on. Each situation brings in hollister uk new characters, and each situation abercrombie Types Of Resume Format You Need To Be brings out special quality in your main character. If you look at television serials, book serials, they all have the same format.
Your readers will want a main character who is consistent in his/her thoughts louboutin and actions. woolrich Therefore, before you begin writing, conceive every fine detail about your main character. It may help to write a dossier on this person, perhaps in MS Word, or a text editor. Each chapter you write you must louboutin pas cher stay true to this person's mannerisms, fears, weaknesses, strengths, and joys. You must create this person's history growing up, what they experienced in their past, and what people influenced them.
Write twenty to fifty chapters of the serial first, before launching hollister your blog. This will help you iron out the kinks, and illustrate any problems you might experience while writing. I actually wrote about thirty chapters in MS Word, and after reading it through, it helped me rethink my main character, cut down the chapters into smaller segments, and work out a comfortable writing pace.
Be absolutely consistent with posting frequency. If you're going to publish a new chapter every day, then make absolutely sure that you do this every day. If your readers notice you publishing new chapters erratically, they will forget to check your blog.
Post date many of your chapters. That is, write several chapters ahead of time, and schedule them to publish on later dates. I usually keep between ten to twenty chapters written ahead of time, each one scheduled to publish two days apart. That's my posting frequency. That gives me about a one month rolling window of chapters so that I can fine tune and even rewrite if need to. It also allows me to take a break from writing without disrupting my readers.
I try to keep each chapter to between 500 and 1,000 barbour sale words. Other serial blogs go less, from between 300 to 500 words. But after writing several chapters I found it comfortable anywhere in the 500-1,000 word range.
Choose a blog template with a very simple, clean design. You want to choose a template with larger font, or you should increase the font size if you know how. Avoid templates with loud, distracting colors and graphics. You want to keep the readers' eyes to drawn abercrombi to your story.
Change the labels and headings so that your blog doesn't look like a blog. For example, where my blog listed the "Blog Archives" I changed it to read, "Chapters". Where the blog pagination read "Next Post", I jordan pas cher changed it to say "Next Chapter". I also removed the date of the post so that it doesn't show, and removed my name from each post.
