2 Jewellery box This jewellery box was a present that I received the first Christmas I moved to Ireland. 4 Diamanda Galas's The Sporting Life I carry this CD with me everywhere, and always listen to it when I'm feeling stressed out. The lyrics are quite quirky -- one minute she's talking about getting married, the next,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], going shopping -- and girlie, but have a dark humour that instantly cheers me up.
5 Rumba I've followed in my Sudanese aunts' footsteps when it comes to signature scents; we wear Rumba by Balenciaga (which my dad brings over from the Sudan, especially for me). It has a strong, cinnamony and henna smell that instantly gets me in the mood for going out.
6Purple bear When I was a teenager, I had an obsession with the colour purple,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and went around looking like Barnie the dinosaur's little sister. I grew out of the purple fixation, and the only thing I kept from that time is this Teddy bear. Today, strawberry colours and olive greens are the shades I go for.
7Cupcakes: I don't like fruit cake, so at Christmas my mam always bakes me cupcakes, which I could eat all day, everyday -- they're my Achilles' heel,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], especially the ones with pink icing on top.
8Caravaggio's Boy with a Basket of Fruit Bought on my first visit to Rome,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], this replica painting would look so well hanging in an Italian villa, but in my house it looks out of place,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], almost tacky. I still love it though, because every time I see it, it reminds me I have to go back to Italy.
9 Opel Corsa I never thought you could be so attached to a mechanical thing, the way I am to my Opel Corsa. It was the first big purchase when I left college, and although I run it into the ground,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], it still keeps going, and I can't see myself trading it in.
10 Shirin Neshat I first came across Shirin Neshat's work in the Irish Museum of Modern Art about eight years ago and instantly fell in love with her use of music and female imagery,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and the way she focuses on Arabic dress and the fabric involved. Today,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], whenever I need inspiration,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], I look at one of her books,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], they're an instant cure for blocked creativity.
