To look fancy is a subjective idea, of course. However, we all do have a vague idea of what a fancy [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] dress should look. Most concepts would not include patterns, though some [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] might; all most none of the concepts of what a ?fancy? dress should be would include more than one bright [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] color. However, [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] the harlequin style is just that?it is loud, bright, and textured. So, how can ?fancy? be synonymous with such a ?clown??
The harlequin pattern is a traditional one with old roots. In fact, it is over four hundred [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] years ago, and originated in Italy. During those times, plays would include characters that would portray classical, stereotypical outlooks on a [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] character, from the personality to the clothing. One stock character, or a character with an expected, unchanging portrayal, was the servant.
The servant would wear attire with a repeating pattern of [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] diamonds that would contrast off each other [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] through a bright color scheme. The idea of servant bled [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] into that of the jester, a servant clown. So, afterwards, the clown was known to [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] wear the harlequin pattern in red and white.
Ever since then, the harlequin has been associated with a clown. Clowns are [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] not fancy. Clowns are not dressy. Clowns are not synonymous with anything that high fashion represents today?class, sex appeal, etc. So, the question is how does the harlequin appear in fancy dresses?
At times, the diamond pattern is kept, but the colors are muted?now the [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] ?new? harlequin has a [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] place in high, fancy fashion. However, there are times where the color scheme can turn up the volume, and [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] appear in small amounts as a line on the dress. So, the harlequin can either encircle or be a vertical line on a dress. Either way, there is a place, albeit a small place, [link widoczny dla zalogowanych] for the harlequin when it comes to fancy dress.
for a great selection of fancy dress
