Cancer fundraisers to race City to Bay in little black dresses,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]
Friends and family of Jodi Lee,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], who died in January last year after a two year battle with bowel cancer,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], will pay tribute to the 41 year old's favourite outfit by donning black tutus as they run the City-Bay.
Up to 35 members of the Jodi Lee Foundation will take part in the September 18 race,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], including Mrs Lee's husband Nick and children Jack,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], 10,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and Bella,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], 7.
Mr Lee,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], who is the founder and CEO of the foundation which aims to raise awareness of bowel cancer,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], said his wife's friends came up with the dress as a theme which best symbolised her life.
"She loved to wear them when going out to parties or dinners,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]," he said.
Twelve of the group members are using the Fun Run as training for the New York Marathon,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which they will also run as a group in their black tutus.
Mr Lee said his wife would be "blown away" by the amount of support for the foundation,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], which formed eight months ago and has already raised more than $300,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych],000.
"I think she'd almost be a little bit embarrassed by all the fuss,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], but she would be impressed with the way everybody has banded together for such a great cause."
