NASHVILLE, Tenn. Nashville flooded Opry Mills mall will reopen several anchor stores in time for the 2011 holiday season.
The mall official reopening date is March 29, 2012, but the 20-screen Regal Cinemas movie theater, VF Outlet, Sun Ski Sports, and Dave Buster will re-open earlier, according to a news release from The Mills company.
They plan to have their grand re-opened celebration in May 2012.
The mall was heavily damaged in May 2010 when the nearby Cumberland River overflowed its banks after record rainfall hit Nashville,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
Reconstruction had been stalled for months as the mall owners fought with insurers,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], eventually filing a lawsuit.
The mall suffered some $200 million in damage in May,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych]. Insurers only agreed to pay $50 million.
In April, The Mills company announced an agreement with lenders that would allow reconstruction to begin while that dispute continues to play out.
Currently, only the mall Bass Pro Shops is open.
A $2-million building rehab permit has been issued for the Aquarium Restaurant at Opry Mills Mall. Another large building permit was issued in May for a $2.5 million dollar rehab project at Dave and Busters,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych].
A number of other tenants have committed to returning, including Off 5th Saks Fifth Avenue, Regal Cinemas Opry Mills,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Rainforest Cafe,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], and Off Broadway Shoes.
There will also be some new additions including Calvin Klein,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Coach Factory Store, and the Lego Store. According to the Nashville Business Journal,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], new additional to the mall also include the Tommy Bahama Outlet, Talbots,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], Chico White House Black Market, and Under Armour Factory House.
